  • Large, Showy Flowers: One of the most distinctive features of Flowering Raspberry is its large, showy flowers. The blooms are typically pink to rose-purple, with a central boss of golden stamens. These flowers add a splash of color to the landscape, appearing in late spring to early summer.
  • Maple-Like Leaves: The shrub is known for its maple-like leaves, which are palmately lobed and have a soft, fuzzy texture. The foliage provides visual interest even when the plant is not in bloom.
  • Edible-Looking Berries: While the berries of Flowering Raspberry are not typically consumed, they have an appearance similar to true raspberries. The red, aggregate fruits add ornamental value to the shrub but are generally bland and seedy.
  • Wildlife Attraction: Flowering Raspberry is attractive to pollinators, including bees and butterflies, due to its large and nectar-rich flowers. Additionally, the berries may attract birds, contributing to the biodiversity of the garden.
  • Partial Shade Tolerance: While Flowering Raspberry can thrive in full sun, it also tolerates partial shade. This adaptability makes it suitable for planting in various garden settings, including woodland gardens or areas with dappled sunlight.

    Care Instructions

Different plants have different watering needs. Check the soil moisture by inserting your finger about an inch into the soil. If it feels dry, water the plant until the water drains from the bottom of the pot. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.
