- Common Name: Beaked willow is often referred to by its common name, and sometimes it's simply called Bebb's willow.
- Size and Form: It typically grows as a shrub but can also develop into a small tree with a rounded or irregular crown. The size can vary, but it generally reaches a height of 6 to 20 feet (1.8 to 6 meters).
- Leaves: The leaves are lance-shaped, finely toothed along the edges, and typically green. They are alternate on the stems.
- Catkins: Like other willows, Salix bebbiana produces catkins. Catkins are cylindrical flower clusters that appear in early spring before the leaves emerge. The male and female catkins are usually found on separate plants (dioecious).
- Habitat and Distribution: Beaked willow is commonly found in wetlands, along streambanks, and in other moist to wet habitats. It is native to North America and is distributed across various regions, including parts of Canada and the United States.
