- Habitat and Range: Riverbank grape is found in a variety of habitats, including riverbanks, stream edges, and floodplains. It is native to eastern and central North America.
- Growth Form: Riverbank grape is a deciduous woody vine that climbs using tendrils. It can form dense thickets and climb trees and other structures.

- Flowers: The flowers are small and greenish, appearing in clusters known as inflorescences. They bloom in late spring to early summer.
- Fruit: The fruit is a grape, typically small and purple to dark blue when ripe. Riverbank grapes are edible, and while they can be somewhat tart, they are sometimes used for making jellies and juices.

Different plants have different watering needs. Check the soil moisture by inserting your finger about an inch into the soil. If it feels dry, water the plant until the water drains from the bottom of the pot. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.
